2009 NFL ATS Pick 'Em: Week Eleven - Jeff Schaffer

By: Luke Florence

Thought I would switch it up a bit with this late week 11 column. Instead of putting it all together in one post, I would make separate entries for each league member who made comments.

The reasoning behind this is two-fold.

One, trying new things can never hurt. It may turn out to be better than what we are currently doing.

And two, I'm lazy, it's Friday, and I want to concentrate on week 12 instead.

Giddy up.
INDIANAPOLIS (-0.5) @ Baltimore
Tough one to call: the Colts caught a lucky break for a comeback win last week, while the Ravens played a horrible team in a joke of a Monday night game. One of these teams won't be prepared for this game, I'm just not sure which one.

BUFFALO @ Jacksonville (-8.5)
Buffalo's receivers said this week they feel more comfortable with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. I don't know why, but I'll trust them. Also I heard he went to Harvard, is that true?

Atlanta @ NEW YORK GIANTS (-6.5)
My initial gut feeling was to take the Giants, so I am...and it hurts me more than any loss ever could.

Cleveland @ DETROIT (-3.5)
Mike Holmgren says he'd like to interview for the Browns' coaching job. Why not give him a headset this week so he can listen in? If he still wants the job after the game, I say that's enough commitment for a hire.

Washington @ DALLAS (-11.5)
I read that Roy Williams is going back to wearing a visor since this is a noon game. This way he'll have a better view of all of Miles Austin's catches.

SAN DIEGO (-2.5) @ Denver
I never thought that a Kyle Orton injury would cause so much concern in his team's camp. The only people who should be mad about this are the Chargers.

CINCINNATI (-9.5) @ Oakland
I'd love to go with the MAC quarterback in this one, but even Bruce 'the Juice' Gradkowski needs people who can actually catch the ball. The one MAC QB I might give a chance to win with this team? Josh Harris. That guy was sick.

PHILADELPHIA (-2.5) @ Chicago
Question: If Jay Cutler throws a pass in the forest, will anyone be there to pick it off?

Tennessee @ HOUSTON (-5.5)
I don't see either of these teams stopping the other. Has there ever been a game with zero punts?

It's always a better week when Jeff Schaffer makes comments. No question he will have several candidates for the Week 11 Quote Of The Week. What makes Spider's quotes so great are how simple they are. They are not overly complicated, and never long in length. He also has a sense of humor that is comparable to mine, which makes his comments that much better.

Until next time, "read it, roll it, hole it."
